God's Protection | Returning to Life From the Brink of Death

God's Protection | Returning to Life From the Brink of Death

By Yang Mei, China

In 2007 I suddenly fell ill with chronic renal failure. On being told the news, my Christian mother and sister-in-law, and some Catholic friends all came to visit me to preach the gospel to me. They all told me that I only had to go to God and my illness would be cured. But I didn’t believe in God at all. I thought that illness could only be cured through scientific medical treatment, and that any disease that couldn’t be cured by science was incurable. After all, was there any power on earth greater than the power of science? Faith in God was just a form of psychological crutch, and I was an upstanding state school teacher, a person who was educated and cultured, so there was no way I’d start believing in God. So I turned them down and started looking around for medical treatment. Within a few years I’d been to virtually every large hospital in my home county and throughout the province, but my condition didn’t improve. In fact, it was getting worse, but I stubbornly clung to my own way of looking at the situation and insisted that science could change anything and that curing illness was just a question of finding the right process.

Diary of a Christian: Learning the Lesson of Obedience

Diary of a Christian: Learning the Lesson of Obedience

Friday, January 5, 2018 Sunny

Today was a day I’ll never forget. The person in charge told me that the church urgently needed a sister to perform hosting duties and asked if I’d be willing. When I heard this, my heart was in turmoil and I couldn’t calm myself down. I never thought I would be asked to perform this duty, and the discontent I felt inside came straight out: “How can you arrange for me to do hosting duties? Elderly brothers and sisters are suited to do that kind of duty. Though my caliber may be lacking, it’s not so poor that I’m only fit to do hosting duties! I’ve been a leader for years and wherever I go, brothers and sisters host me and revolve around me, and yet now I’m actually expected to host others in turn? Don’t you know anything about how to use people? Won’t this be like using a huge crane to move chicken feathers, or putting fine timber to some trivial use? If my brothers and sisters back at home know that, even though I’ve worked really hard for years for my belief in God, I haven’t become a leader but instead am doing hosting duties, what will they think of me? Won’t they think that I’m not pursuing the truth, or that my caliber is too poor? If they really thought that, where could I ever show my face again?”

Gospel Song | "People Better Know God Through the Work of Words" | The Power of the Word of God

Gospel Song | "People Better Know God Through the Work of Words" | The Power of the Word of God

God of the last days mainly uses the word to perfect man, not signs and wonders to oppress or convince him, since these can’t explain God’s power. If God showed only signs and wonders, it would be impossible to make plain the reality of God, and thus impossible to perfect man. God doesn’t perfect man by signs and wonders, but waters and shepherds man using words, to achieve man’s obedience, knowledge of God. This is the aim of His work and His words. God doesn’t use signs and wonders to perfect man. He uses words and many types of work instead, such as refinement, dealing, pruning or provision of words. God speaks from different perspectives to make man perfect, and to give man a greater knowledge of the work, wisdom and wonder of God.

Song About Jesus | "Emulate the Lord Jesus" | Jesus Christ Is My Beloved

Song About Jesus | "Emulate the Lord Jesus" | Jesus Christ Is My Beloved

Jesus completed God’s mission, the redemption work of all man by giving His cares to God’s will, without selfish purpose or plans. At the center He placed God’s plan. To heavenly Father He prayed, seeking heavenly Father’s will. He would seek and He’d always pray. If like Jesus you give all your cares to God and turn your back to flesh, God will trust you with vital tasks to enable you to serve Him.
